Special  Note From John Godfrey NW GA AWANA Webmaster:
Did you know that your Awana Missionaries are 100% Faith Based and that support for this wonderful children's ministry depends on finacial gifts from churches and individuals? Outside of the local church, I know of no other organization that strives to build such a solid Biblical foundation in our children.

If the programs and outreach of Awana, and the missionaries that God has called to work with your children have been a blessing to you, won't you consider supporting their mission finacially if you can? No gift is too small, so I would ask that you prayerfully consider offering your support as a church or as an individual as God leads you.

You may have not even known that your Awana Missionaries are "faith based" and that each month they must raise the funds for all of their expenses (i.e.) fuel to get the churches, motels when necessary and meals while traveling, supplies, tires, auto repairs,  printing cost, and even insurance to be able to travel. Sometimes funds are low, but they still "go" because they love God, they love children, and they want to reach as many for Christ as they can. So please won't you consider either a one time gift, or you may even consider continued monthly support. I know it will bless you greatly to know that you're a part of this family and children's ministry.

Be assured that I have not been asked or encouraged in any way to place this note on the website. Neither Brian or Carolyn were informed in advance that I've placed it here. However I personally felt that you would want to know that your support is needed to carry on this great work. You may email or call Brian and Carolyn (see "Contact" link) to see how best to send your support for the Awana Program. All Awana offerings are under the direct supervision of Awana Headquarter so you can feel confident that your support will be helping children in your area and Northwest Georgia.. You can be a part of this great ministry!

Please read Brian and Carolyn's testimony below. Thank you and may God Bless you,

John Godfrey North GA Awana webmaster

In 1974 at 25 years of age, Carolyn and I became convicted that we had never been saved.   Within a few days of each other, we both made the personal decision to ask Jesus Christ to be our Savior.

In 1995 our church decided to start an Awana Club.  At that time, we had never heard of Awana.  I was asked to be the commander of the club.   We visited a local church and watched the club in action and could see that Awana was a great tool to reach children and parents with the gospel of Christ.

A few years later we felt God’s call to become a full-time Awana missionary.  We began the application process in January 1999 and the process continued until July, when we were approved for training.  We went for training at Awana Headquarters in Streamwood, Illinois.   On August 15,1999 at the age of 50, Carolyn and I officially became full-time faith supported missionaries.

What is an Awana missionary?  “A person . . . called of God to introduce the ministry of Awana to local churches and equip them to impact their community and the world with the Gospel of Grace.”

We started out with 77 churches with Awana Clubs and the Lord has richly blessed us with about 200 churches with Awana Clubs in our region, NW Georgia.

Our desire is to remain faithful to His call, and reach many boys, girls and parents with the Gospel of Christ through the ministry of Awana.

In His Service,
Brian & Carolyn Crowe
